The National Children’s Advocacy Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Forensic Interview Trainer to join our team. Are you seeking to champion and strengthen the global response to child abuse? Then this is the job for you! In this role, you will work with a team of dedicated professionals advancing forensic interviewing practices across the globe.

About the role
The Forensic Interview (FI) Trainer will play a vital role in providing high-quality training and support to professionals involved in investigating and prosecuting child abuse cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forensic interviewing, training, and other learning opportunities for child abuse professionals. This position requires travel, on average, one to two times per month. In addition, our FI Trainers conduct FI’s on a regular basis in order to stay current with their skills.

A typical day may include:
  • Conducting in-person or a virtual training session at NCAC or various locations around the world.
  • Designing training materials, curriculum, and resources in alignment with best practices.
  • Provide consultation and support to professionals conducting forensic interviews in their respective agencies or organizations.
  • Reading research to stay informed about emerging research, trends, and developments in child abuse investigation and forensic interviewing.
  • Conducting a forensic interview at your local CAC

Education and experience requirements we are looking for include:
  • Master’s degree in social work or related field
  • Significant experience (5+ years) conducting forensic interviews at a children’s advocacy center.
  • Experience (3+ years) designing and providing training for child abuse professionals.
  • Experience (3+) providing mentoring, consultation, or supervision of forensic interviewers.

Location and Hours
Our campus is located in Huntsville, AL with typical hours of 8:30 to 5:00 CST. Remote work in Central or Eastern time zones within 1.5 hours of a major airport is available, but preference may be given to candidates willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
