Job Title: Receptionist (full-time)
Reports To: Clinical Manager 

The National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) is seeking a dependable full-time Receptionist.  This position is best suited for an individual with excellent customer service and clerical skills and experience working in customer relations or a social service organization.

About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for handling the front desk and lobby area of the building that provides adult-oriented child abuse prevention services. You will work collaboratively with the Madison County Multidisciplinary Team including law enforcement agencies, the district attorney’s office, the Department of Human Resources and NCAC’s clinical services team.

A typical day may include: 
  • Greeting guests entering the building
  • Directing phone calls to multiple partner agencies
  • Assisting with office equipment such as copy machines and fax machines
  • Supporting the multidisciplinary team by assisting with projects as needed
  • Supervising visitors while in the lobby area
  • Providing a safe and calm environment, realizing that colleagues and guests are working with highly traumatic content
  • Pursuing personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of position
  • Supervising children and families in the Children’s Building lobby when other staff are unavailable

Education and experience requirements we are looking for include:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in office work or an equivalent combination of clerical and computer experience or related training
  • Prior receptionist experience in customer relations or a social service organization is strongly preferred

Location and Hours
This position will work on-site Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm at our campus in Huntsville, AL.
